This is a special place.
I have a little side job that I am passionate about with our local Art Center, which for over four decades has been located in this historic home on a hill.
My husband had his first ever solo art exhibit here. The two of us came to see numerous other exhibitions, and my children had art camp here. This particular place has a particular place in my heart.
A little over a year ago, it was discovered the building is structurally unsound. That hill that provides such views is becoming the home’s worst enemy. The Art Center has had to get out, and there’s been a long, slow process in the gradual progress.
Yesterday, we assessed the few items remaining and gathered it into one room. And I said a goodbye. I don’t know if it was my last time there, but I’m fine if it is. Closure is good and necessary.
