Last year, I began a challenge just for the month of February. They called it Thing-A-Day, and the challenge was to “make” something every day for 28 days. I use the word “make,” but really I should use “create.” I had never done anything like it before. I relished the flow of creative juices. When the month was over, I wanted to keep going, but alas, too much of my regular life duties had been cast aside for the month.
This year, I plan to do the challenge again—with the bonus Leap Year day—for 29 days. All the while keeping up with my other responsibilities that maybe this won’t be just a month of doing something each day, but rather, a month where I practice the discipline of creating—of giving myself an opportunity to express whatever I have to give in whatever way I can.
